Up to 2014 there had been two Linux Mint releases per year, about one month after the Ubuntu releases they were based on. Each release was given a new version number and a code name, using a female first name starting with the letter whose alphabetical index corresponds to the version number and ending with the letter "a" (e.g., "Elyssa" for version 5, "Felicia" for version 6). I have been using it for a year and never had a problem both on Windows and Linux. I don't understand why people are having problem with it. Just go to it's website, click on Download and follow the insructions. Works like a charm both on Windows and Linux. Don't blame Linux just because you don't know Linux Mint is a nice distro that’s based on Ubuntu. This feature allows Linux Mint to enjoy the support from one of the largest Linux communities of all. Moreover, as it’s based on Ubuntu, it’s stable and fluent. Now, on top of Ubuntu, Linux Mint comes up in different desktop environments. The Cinnamon desktop is a unique one by nature. In Linux Mint 19 there isn't default shortcut for changing language layout so you will need to add a custom one in order to change from one language keyboard to another. Adding custom language shortcut is available by: * Menu * Preferences * Keyboard (or search in the menu) * another way to access it is by language icon - in the up corner, then Keyboard Settings and finally Layouts tab Linux Mint 18.1 released with long term support, Developers announced it would receive support & security update till 2021. Now everyone wants to try this Linux Mint project before installing OS entirely on their computer.

I have been using Linux Mint for many years and I am impressed by all the improvements with each new version. Exception job on Linux Mint 19, 19->19.1, then 19.1->19.2, now 19.2->19.3. flawless few upgrades process.
